Wrangling Cactus with Julie Lay, Saturday May 4th, 2024 11am-12pm

Join us for a class about growing and carrying for cacti in Central Oregon with Julie Lay on Saturday May 4th from 11am-12pm.

Julie Lay and her husband (Owners off Smith Rock Cactus Garden), have frequented the Southwest Deserts since the 80’s and when they moved to Central Oregon, Julie wanted to establish a cactus garden at her property. She had to research hardy varieties (as well as finding out with much trial and error) of cactus that do well in our climate. Amazingly, may types do well in our climate with little help.

With over 60 different successful varieties, Julie Lay propagates and sells her Cactus from her lovely ranch set in the scenic splendor of Smith Rock State Park. Join Schilling’s Garden Market for this informative class on the care, culture and propagation of cold hardy cactus in Central Oregon.

We will have numerous varieties on hand for sale!

This class will take place outside-please dress appropriately. Seats are limited and registration is required! Sign up below today!
